A poodle, named Er Mei, six and a half years old, female, 3.2kg. The dog had a trochlear groove deepening surgery one and a half years ago, and the postoperative effect was not good. Both sides underwent trochlear groove replacement (PGR) at the same time. The size 3 prosthesis of the BlueSAO PGR system was used during the surgery, and the postoperative recovery was good. Recently, it was found that one side of the dog had claudication. After examination, it was found that the reason for claudication was the pain caused by the Kirschner wire that fixed the tibial tuberosity rubbing against the soft tissue. At the same time, a small area of calcification was found in the straight ligament of the knee. After the Kirschner wire was removed, the joint capsule was opened, and it was found that the prosthesis and the patella were working together well, without hyperplasia and other complications, and the prosthesis was still smooth. Normal walking was basically restored on the third day after surgery.
Thanks for Dr.Xu from Maoming Mingya Animal Hospital of Guangdong province bringing us the case.
