Lucy, a British Shorthair with bilateral hip dysplasia, had right hip replacement surgery last month. Let's watch this video to see how his recovery is going.
Animal Video
Video: One month after the surgery on the right leg, Lucy walks without any problem. When stretching, you can see that Lucy's right leg can be extended backward to a great extent, while the left leg shows several leg retractions in the process. This is because the artificial hip joint surgically implanted in the right leg does not cause pain, while the left leg still has hip arthritis, which causes pain when the joint is extended. That is why the leg is retracted.
As planned, we will perform the surgery on the left side about a month after the surgery on the right side. We performed the surgery on the left side after the X-ray confirmed that the right side joint was recovering well.
