Breed: Chinese local dog, Weight: 13.6kg Age: about a
few years old, Gender: Male
This is a dog who is both tragic and lucky. The tragic thing is: there was a car accident and the left femur was fractured, the right femur was dislocated, and there were other injuries. The fortunate thing is: one, the owner loves him very much and wants to get the best treatment; two, he met our Dr. Li Wanfang from Guangzhou YY Animal Hospital. Dr. Li is one of the few female orthopedic surgeons in China, and the first and currently the only female orthopedic surgeon in the country to be double certified by the BlueSAO Cemented Hip Replacement System and the Biological Hip Replacement System.
After stabilizing the vital signs
of the dog, Dr. Li proceeded to fix its left femoral fracture and chose another
time to perform a right hip replacement.
The appropriate femoral stem
prosthesis and acetabular cup prosthesis were selected after calibration
according to Marker on the iBlueVet operating system. Preoperative planning decided
to use a #5 biological femoral stem with a 20 mm biological cup, prepared +0,
+3 and +6 13 mm femoral head prostheses with 16 mm lateral bolt. Intraoperative
testing with a trial femoral head prosthesis was performed before deciding on
the final femoral head implant prosthesis.
Planned implants: #5 biological
femoral stem, 20mm biological cup, +0 or +3 or +6 13mm femoral head prosthesis,
16mm lateral blot.
