A Bichon Frise, 2 years old, male, 2.3kg.
Etiology: the dog started walking unsteadily more than half a month ago and gradually became unable to walk. Physical examination revealed paresis of the four limbs, with voluntary movement but unable to walk, and obvious pain in the neck, which was diagnosed as atlantoaxial subluxation according to CT.
We then fixed him with BlueSAO 1.2mmKirschner wire + antibiotic-loaded bone cement for ventral atlantoaxial fixation. The articular surface is filled with S-VETOSS artificial bone imported from Canada to increase the speed of joint fusion. The surgery was completed successfully. Best wishes for an early recovery.
Thanks to Dr. Gao Peiyuan (Shenyang Agricultural University - Wellhope Animal Hospital) for sharing the clinical case of VETOSS artificial bone.
