A Garfield cat, 2 years old, male (unneutered), 4.3kg,
suffered from the comminuted fracture of the femur due to a fall. As the fracture was too close to the lesser trochanter, the medial plate could not be placed proximally, so the plate was bent to the medial side of the femoral head The technique of opening without touching was adopted to open the fracture without touching the fracture fragments so as to ensure a good blood supply to the fracture fragments. He was fixed with BlueSAO PRCL®-6.5mm pure titanium locking plate for dual plate internal fixation. His femur achieved good reduction. Best wishes for an early recovery.
Thanks to Dr. Han Cheng (Technical Department of Beijing Quanxinquanyi Animal Hospital) for sharing the clinical case of BlueSAO PRCL® locking plate system.
