Postoperative time:1.5 Years(surgery to be performed in April 2023)
Breed: Samoyed dog
Sex: male
Age: 8 months old (currently 26 months old)
Weight: 20 kg
Etiology: femoral head dislocation
The dog suffered from lameness on the left hind limb due to an external impact, and X-rays were taken to confirm the diagnosis of femoral head dislocation on the left hind limb. After communicating with the owner, a consensus was reached and the decision was made to perform a total hip replacement (THR) for the future quality of life and welfare of the dog.
A detailed surgical plan was developed for this dog by using BlueSAO iBlueVet. Intraoperatively, we adopted a φ24mm biological cup, a #6 biological stem and a φ16mm (+3) head of BlueSAO Biological Hip Replacement System for his right hip replacement, and φ 16mm(+2) and φ 16mm(+4) heads were prepared on stand to ensure the smooth progress of the surgery. The surgery was performed according to the developed surgical plan. Best wishes for an early recovery.
1.5 years after the surgery, the dog in the video is moving freely and hopping actively!
