A golden retriever, nickname: Danbing, 10 months old, female, 29kg,was brought to the hospital due to lameness of bilateral hind limbs, which was diagnosed as bilateral hip dysplasia. Therefore, we decided to perform a THR on the right hind limb first, followed by a THR on the left hind limb. Intraoperatively, a φ25mm bionic cup, a φ20mm PEEK femoral head, a #7 biological stem, and an M+0 femoral neck of BlueSAO Bionic Hip Joint System were adopted for replacement. The dog is recovering well from the surgery. Best wishes for an early recovery.
At five days postoperatively, it was clearly observed that weight bearing on the dog’s right hind limb increased after replacement and decreased on the left hind limb.
Thanks to Dr. Du Youwei (Heng Xing Animal Hospital of Hefei) for sharing the case of BlueSAO Bionic Hip Joint System.
