A Golden Retriever, 7 years old, male (uncastrated), 34 Kg. He was of standard size and had early hip dysplasia (CHD) detected at a young age, which progressed to degenerative hip disease. In the last half month, the dog was limping and unable to bear full weight on the right hind limb, and had limited movement of the right hip joint. On palpation, the dog exhibited significant pain when moving the hip joint. Therefore, an artificial hip replacement was decided. Preoperatively, precise surgical planning was performed using BlueSAO iBlueVet software. Intraoperatively, a total hip replacement was performed using a biological artificial hip system from BlueSAO in China. Implants: #7 biological femoral stem, 26mm biological cup, 16mm (+9) femoral head, 20mm lateral bolt. The surgery went very well. The angle and press-fit of the cup were good. The anterior angulation and centration of the stem was good. The results of the large angle dislocation test before suturing showed to be stable. He can walk with weight on the 2nd postoperative day. Looking forward to the dog's speedy recovery!
