The number of domestically bred Corgi dogs has significantly increased. Corgis are a dwarf breed, with more curved limb bones than any other breed, extremely muscular hind limbs and thighs, and its acetabulum will be shallower compared to other breeds. Due to the improvement of living standards, Corgis have also become very prone to being overweight. Today, this Corgi is severely overweight and has very bad hip joints. If the weight is too heavy, it can cause the surgical field to be too deep, making it easy to open up when placing the acetabular cup. It is also not easy to enlarge the bone marrow cavity, which can lead to poor centralization of the femoral stem. Fortunately, we have the BlueSAO Hip Replacement System, which can make this surgery easy for the veterinarian.

After calibration using the Marker in iBlueVet preoperative planning software, suitable femoral stem prostheses and acetabular cup prostheses are selected. Preoperative planning uses a #4s biological femoral stem, a 16mm cemented cup, and (+0), (+2), and (+4) 10mm femoral head spares. The femoral head prosthesis is determined after testing with the femoral head prosthesis model during surgery.
