Tuantuan is an Alaskan Malamute girl from Chongqing, a city with many mountains. Since childhood, she has sought medical treatment in many places due to hip dysplasia and has undergone JPS surgery. However, her hip problems have not been improved. Therefore, her pet owner brought her to Shanghai BaicuiAnimal Hospital to seek the opinion of Dr. Zhou Luoping.

The way Tuantuan walked when she came to our hospital for examination:

We conducted a standard hip joint examination on Tuan Tuan under anesthesia, including palpation of the hip joint and projection in four directions of the pelvis. The results showed that there was severe laxity and inconsistency in both hip joints of Tuan Tuan. After considering and comparing the possible prognosis and risks of pelvic reoperation (DPO) and total hip replacement surgery (THR), the pet owner chose bilateral hip replacement surgery for her.
