An Akita, nickname: Barton, 1 and a half years old, male, 26kg, suffered from bilateral hip dysplasia with significant subluxation of the right leg, resulting in poor weight-bearing and significant loss of femoral muscle. As such, we decided to perform a THR surgery. Accurate preoperative planning was made by BlueSAO iBlueVet. We did the THR surgery by using a φ27mm bionic cup, a φ22mm PEEK femoral head, a #7 biological stem, an M+3 femoral neck, and a φ22mm cortical bone side bolt of BlueSAO Bionic Hip Joint System were adopted for replacement. After surgery, the dog’s joint exhibited good initial stability. Thanks for the trust of the dog owner, and we also wish Barton an early recovery.

Thanks to Dr. Wang Weitao (Beijing Yuepet Animal Hospital) for sharing the case of BlueSAO Bionic Hip Joint System.
