A small Shiba Inu, nicknamed Candy, female, underwent a femoral head resection nine years ago due to a trauma that caused her hip joint to luxate. Currently, her owner has noticed that she has unsteady standing and weak walking. After neurological and orthopedic examinations, it was determined that the cause was osteophyte pain and joint weakness after femoral head resection. Hip replacement surgery was recommended to restore normal function of the hind limbs.
