Maine Coon cat, 1 year old, female, weight 3Kg.
Due to hip dysplasia and patellar dislocation, hip replacement was decided. Preoperatively, the BlueSAOiBlueVet software was used for precise surgical planning. During the operation, the BlueSAOMicro Bionic Cemented Hip Joint System was used for replacement. Implant selection: 13mm PEEK Cemented Acetabular Cup, 10mm+0 Femoral Head, #3 Cemented Femoral Stem.
The postoperative dislocation test performed well, the operation was completed smoothly, and the cat began to walk with weight on the first day after the operation. Hope to recover soon! Due to the occasional ventricular tachycardia in the animal during the operation, the operation was carried out quickly, and it was decided to perform patellar luxationrepair surgery again next time.
"First do no harm" is one of the core principles of medical ethics, emphasizing that medical behavior should give priority to avoiding physical and mental harm to patients. A good surgical process must cause less damage to the body of small animals.
There are always specific/special cases, but we must never use specific/special cases as universal treatment principles. We pursue clean total hips, pursue all minimally damaging surgeries, and strive for painless joints for small animals!
