Akita dog, 2 years old, female (neutered), weight 33Kg.

Routine immunization, right hind limb lameness, obvious joint pain on palpation, heavy bone friction sound, muscle atrophy of both hind limbs, deep pain sensitivity of the affected limb, normal proprioceptive reflexes, gait relief after oral analgesics, and now decided to perform hip replacement.

Preoperatively, the BlueSAOiBlueVet software was used for precise surgical planning, and the BlueSAO bionic hip joint system was used for replacement during the operation. The implants selected were: 27mm bionic acetabular cup, 22mm PEEK femoral head, No. 8 biotype femoral stem, M+3 femoral neck.

Director Zhou Xingzhao of Shenzhen Xingzhao Orthopedic Specialist Pet Hospital and Director Wang Chunyu of Changsha Chengpin Animal Hospital cooperated to complete this hip replacement surgery to help Akita dogs solve hip joint problems. The operation was successfully completed, and the dog was able to walk with weight 24 hours after the operation. I hope he will recover soon!
