A bichon frise, 7 months old, female, 1.36kg,suffered from a lameness in the left hind limb for two weeks. Palpation revealed muscle atrophy on the left side as well as pain and sensitivity in the hip, and X-rays suggested femoral head necrosis. As such, a decision was made to perform a hip replacement surgery on this dog. Intraoperatively, we adopted a φ11mm PEEK cemented cup, a φ8mm+0 femoral head, and a #1 stem of BlueSAO Micro & Nano Bionic Hip Replacement System for replacement. The surgery was completed successfully, and the dog was able to jump and run freely one month postoperatively.
